PacketFence v6 - What's Coming

Preview of PacketFence v6, building on the successful v5 release with new features and performance enhancements.

The 2015 year has been a great one for PacketFence! Our v5 release delivered significant improvements including Fingerbank integration, WMI support, multimaster capabilities, PKI functionality, and an updated dashboard.

Setting the Bar High for v6

As we look ahead to PacketFence v6, we plan to once again set the bar high for the competition. Building on the strong foundation of v5, version 6 will introduce new capabilities that further enhance PacketFence’s position as the leading open source NAC solution.

Planned Enhancements

Improved Scalability

Version 6 will include optimizations for handling even larger deployments with improved performance and reduced resource requirements.

Enhanced Device Profiling

Building on our Fingerbank integration, v6 will provide more accurate device identification and expanded profiling capabilities.

User Experience Improvements

The administrative interface will receive further refinements to streamline common workflows and improve overall usability.

Additional Integrations

New integrations with third-party security tools and infrastructure components will expand PacketFence’s ecosystem.

Release Timeline

PacketFence v6 is planned for release in 2016. We’ll share more detailed feature announcements as development progresses.
