April 27, 2012

PacketFence announces the selection of three students for Google Summer of Code 2012 to work on exciting new features.

We are pleased to announce that PacketFence has selected three talented students for Google Summer of Code 2012!

Selected Projects

After reviewing numerous proposals, we’ve chosen three projects that will significantly enhance PacketFence’s capabilities:

Project 1: Web Administration Interface Redesign

This project focuses on modernizing PacketFence’s administrative interface, improving usability and adding new management features. The redesigned interface will make it easier for administrators to configure and monitor their NAC deployment.

Project 2: Mobile Device Support

This project will develop tools to improve PacketFence’s integration with mobile devices, making it easier to deploy wireless security configurations and manage BYOD policies.

Project 3: Enhanced Network Discovery

This project aims to improve PacketFence’s ability to discover and profile network devices, integrating with additional scanning tools and improving device fingerprinting accuracy.

Congratulations to Our Students

We extend our congratulations to the selected students. We look forward to working with you over the summer and helping you contribute meaningfully to the PacketFence project.
